I provide online therapy sessions through a HIPAA compliant tele-therapy platform by name of Simple Practice. It uses bank-level encryption to ensure its users and their information are secure. If you’re interested in telehealth services, it’s important to consider if your environment:
is quiet
is private, ensuring we’re able to see and communicate with each other
has minimal distractions
Due to licensing rules and regulations as a LCPC, I can only provide telehealth sessions to those residing in the states of Maryland & Florida. Meaning, you must physically be in one of the two states during your session.

At Rooted Minds Counseling & Consulting, I have a 24 hour cancellation policy. You will be responsible for the entire session fee if a cancellation is made with less than 24 business hours' notice. Exceptions may be made for emergencies such as sudden illness or accident, at my discretion. It should be noted that insurance does not reimburse for canceled sessions and HSA and FSA cards can't be used in these cases.

My individual fee is $225 per 50-minutes; couple’s intake fee is $450 per 2-3 hours and $400 per 90-minute follow-up session. I am not paneled with any insurance plans however, I can offer you what's called "out-of-network" (OON) benefits. Not everyone has this as part of their benefits package, so please call your healthcare plan and ask these questions:
Do I have out-of-network benefits?
What percentage of my therapist's fee does my plan pay for?
At times, insurance plans request upfront billing codes I will be using. You can share this list of codes with them for approval:
90791 Psychiatric Diagnostic Assessment (from 1-4 sessions depending on the presented concern.)
90834 Psychotherapy, 45 minutes
90847 Family Psychotherapy, conjoint psychotherapy with patient present
90846 Family Psychotherapy, without patient present
90887 Collateral visit
When using OON benefits, I will provide you with a monthly document that’s called a “superbill.” which is similar to an invoice however contains therapeutic service codes, dates of treatment, and payments made during therapy. You would submit this to your plan directly, and your plan would reimburse you directly as well. I additionally encourage clients to utilize Reimbursify as an OON resource and support for submitting superbills that I encourage clients to use as needed.
You can get in-notwork therapy should my fees be outside your budget. Your insurance carrier can identify providers who are in-network should you need to use your benefits.

I utilize a HIPAA compliant, encrypted, electronic medical record called SimplePractice that holds all of my client's mental health records safely in it. You will get a link to a client portal where you fill in demographic information and can access documents like invoices and superbills on your own.
SimplePractice has a credit card processing system named Stripe embedded in it. If choosing to work with me you would upload your credit card number and I would tap the card after each session or late cancellation for the fee. I only have access to the last 4 digits of your card and it is completely secured.

The federal No Surprises Act became effective Jan. 1, 2022. This law aims to help you (as a client) better understand your health care costs in advance of care and to minimize unforeseen or “surprise” medical bills. The Good Faith Estimate provision of the No Surprises Act is designed to give you (a client) an estimate of how much you will be charged for the healthcare services you’ll be receiving, prior to your appointment. Given that I am an out-of-network provider, you can expect to receive a Good Faith Estimate form from me, prior to starting therapy. The estimate provided in the document is subject to change based on your therapeutic needs, cancellations, etc.
As an out of network provider, I will still provide transparency in our therapeutic work including the regard of your finances. For this reason, my fees for services are listed on my website and I disclose all relevant fee information to you prior to your initial session. Your fees are never increased without us discussing it and obtaining your verbal and signed consent.
